Earlyarts Announces Additional Board Members

Earlyarts, the largest national network for people working creatively with children and families in the arts, cultural and early years sectors has welcomed three new members to their Advisory Board.

"We are delighted by the breadth of expertise in Earlyarts, and all with a focus on early years," said Nathan Archer, Chair of Earlyarts. "Our new Board Members bring a range of skills and experiences from innovative children's centres, creative training and national strategic influence to technology for creative learning, digital publishing and sustainable social enterprises. These complement our established expertise in early years qualifications, research, children’s theatre, music, museums and galleries."

Sydney Thornbury, James Huggins and June O'Sullivan join Nathan Archer (Chair) of The Children's House Consultancy, Jo Albin-Clark of Edge Hill University and Natasha Holmes of Tell Tale Hearts.

Sydney Thornbury is Executive Director of Webplay and has been pioneering in bringing together technology and business models, specifically to support the children's theatre sector, and is widely regarded for her contribution to the cultural sector. James Huggins is Managing Director and co-founder of Made in Me a children's digital publishing which inspires young children to learn by exploring their creativity and imagination. June O'Sullivan is Chief Executive of London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) and an inspiring speaker and regular media commentator on Early Years, Social Enterprise and Child Poverty.

Earlyarts Director, Ruth Churchill Dower, added, "Extending the Earlyarts Advisory Board to include expertise and connectivity in the new areas of delivery reflected in Earlyarts’ national strategy for 2012 onwards is our natural next step. With such a strong team behind us, and not forgetting our Patron Sir Ken Robinson, we are very excited about what the future holds for Earlyarts."

Earlyarts' purpose is to provide high quality resources that enable arts, cultural and early years professionals to discover their amazing creative potential. Membership is free for online resources, or  members can upgrade to benefit from training, master classes and leadership coaching. On encouraging young audiences (or their parents) to take risks

http://www.itstheforest.comWhy should parents bring their children to see something like my company's dance piece 'The Forest'?When it’s half term and I scan the pages of the ‘what’s on for children’ sections of magazines I want to know that the experiences I choose for my children will be, to be honest, worth the effort, that they will enjoy it, that they will be enriched in some way, in any way, by what they’ve seen.I want to take them…See More
