In an apartment in Paris where nothing is quite as it seems, join Josette and her Papa as they dance with their ears, eat a piece of the moon, and meet a toy soldier called Jacqueline.A magnificent, magical, physical, musical journey about a father and daughter who let their imagination run away with them. The show is a unique fusion of dance and theatre for children and their grown ups. Inspired by the stories that French Absurdist playwright Eugène Ionesco wrote for his young daughter,…See More

"Hello   We keep our database very simple. We just use Microsoft Excel mixed with a bit of Outlook. It seems to work for us and keep everything organised and well-managed.   Carrie :)"

Hello all We at Peut-etre are reassessing the way we organise all of our data and I was wondering if anyone out there used a particularly good piece of software that was simple and effective? I've used various databases in the past but nothing for the last five years or so and so thought I'd put it out there to see what other people are doing.    See More

Stage managers for small-scale touring shows

Hello everybody. We at Peut-etre are having some difficulty finding a great stage manager to help us with our new show so I thought I'd put a call out on the Future Playground to see if anyone has any recommendations for us.We need someone who can drive and is strong enough to lift some heavy-ish bits of set. More importantly, perhaps, we need someone who understands touring children's theatre - and all that this entails!.And more generally, as a young company it would be great to know other…See More

MANIFESTOS (or, Tell Us What You Really Think)

There's a venerable tradition of artists' manifestos, which always seem to pop up especially at times of great cultural and political change (post WW1 dadaists; them 60s experimenters...) so, given that we are living through times of extraordinary change right now, I thought I'd start a thread for MANIFESTOS RELATING TO MAKING ART FOR CHILDREN.Don't have one?  Nor did I until 24 hours ago, then I decided I'd write one.So get going, and it'd be grand to see them here...See More

On encouraging young audiences (or their parents) to take risks

http://www.itstheforest.comWhy should parents bring their children to see something like my company's dance piece 'The Forest'?When it’s half term and I scan the pages of the ‘what’s on for children’ sections of magazines I want to know that the experiences I choose for my children will be, to be honest, worth the effort, that they will enjoy it, that they will be enriched in some way, in any way, by what they’ve seen.I want to take them…See More
