This Earlyarts Professional Development Day will explore using artefacts, songs, rhythm and rhyme from museums and libraries as stimulus for storytelling and imaginative journeys
The aims of the day are:
To explore museum collections and library resources to promote creative learning in the early years
To develop your toolkit of strategies to build stories and stimulate young children’s imagination and linguistic development by using historical artefacts and images
To build partnerships between artists, arts, cultural and heritage organisations, early years providers and Local Authority Children’s Services and Cultural Services teams for more integrated delivery
There will be two practical workshops - Making Songs (using Kodaly techniques) and Making Stories (handling museum objects) plus a fascinating tour behind the scenes of Bankfield Museum.
Places are free for Earlyarts Bronze, Silver and Gold Members and £60 for Earlyarts Free and non-members. Paid membership of Earlyarts starts at £48 for the year.
